The Unity Program? It's, well, supposed to be this ground initiative by The Order, handpicking 'promising' individuals from each sector. They say it's for unity, preparing us to bridge the divides between our sectors, to work together for the 'greater good'. But really, it's shrouded in secrecy. Nobody truly knows why they're chosen or what they're in for. Some say it's just a propaganda exercise. Others think it's a death sentence with fancy branding. Rumor has it they're sending these recruits out beyond the megacities, to do what exactly... no one's sure. But if you ask me, it's less about unity and more about survival. The Order's survival, not ours.

This is the first time I've written a story like this, however I feel that I should explain some plot points since I did try to stick as close to the anime canon as possible but there are a few things I'd like to clear up first. This story starts at the fall of Wall Maria from your perspective as a young girl who lived in the Shiganshina district, I'll leave the age unspecified if I can but at the end she will definitely be over 18 years old. Then I will go into a time skip after developing the relationship between the reader and Levi as he helps the reader through their depression, I just wanted to get some background into the story first since it's important to how the reader ends up meeting Levi. Another thing I wanted to point out is that I know that the scouts didn't live in the abandoned castle until after they got Eren in the Survey Corps however I set the story there the majority of the time since I have no clue where they lived before and this is my story so I'll do what I want XD. I'm going to write for a female reader since it should be easier for me to write for this story that way, but I plan on doing more gender neutral stories in the future if this goes over well. This will only be rated 18+ near the end (Like literally only in the last chapter) as I mostly want to focus on the relationship the reader forms with Levi and I don't want my first story to be pure smut. No one knew where this came from but it was dangerous to leave it unsolved. A man rose up to fix this situation with his own method and was hoping to succeed but, he had trouble reaching his goals. The World went into chaos knowing they can't be saved. Civilizations went down, resources began to rot, children and adults died out on short time. How did it come to this? I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth.
