The UNSC Infinity arrives at Installation 07 with their plan of using a Cortana clone to trap and neutralize her following her actions against humanity with the created. A Hail Mary of a plan by any standards, this is the story of the Top Secret ONI team assigned the even bigger Hail Mary of a back-up plan. Following reports of an ONI scientist speculating the ring was home to a forerunner intelligence signature unlike any witnessed before, A team is crafted to find and unearth it on the ring, hoping that it may be of any use should the chief and the weapon fail in their mission to bring down Cortana.
