"This is all a dream. Wake me when it's all over."

Hope Dixon has managed to survive through years of living in a broken world ruled by the undead. Now, she's within a week or two of having her baby, and her fears are growing every day. Fears that she'll lose her unborn child, fears that she'll lose her beloved redneck and husband, Daryl, terrors that seem to grow more and more terrifying as the days go on.

She's managed to keep her wits about her throughout this entire stay within the apocalyptic wasteland of the Earth, but her time is coming. Change is inevitable, and she's just put hers off until now.

More than anything, she wishes for a world where she doesn't have to live with the constant reminder that, in a world of the undead, she can't avoid losing people. She can't dodge the bullets that life throws at her forever.

Sooner or later, the bulletproof vest will fail and she will be taken down by the harshness of reality. All she can ask is that someone, somewhere, will wake her from this terrible nightmare when it's all over.

"Please?"

Angel

39 parts Complete Mature

Daryl Dixon is completely on his own. After the Saviors burn down Alexandria, he thinks that he is the only survivor. Living without the group that he has come to love, has left him as nothing more than a shell of the man he used to be. One day after a brutal fight, he stumbles upon a run-down shack in the woods. As he lay dying on the dirty floor, his life is saved by a complete stranger. These two loners find that living life together is so much better than doing it alone. I haven't written a story in the first person since Broken. It's not as easy as it sounds, but I enjoyed the challenge. This story has taken me months to write and I finished it just days after the Season 8 midseason finale. Any similarities to that episode are pure coincidence. I wrote the chapter (You'll know which one) months before Season8 even started. For anyone that is newly following me or reading my books, I write differently than most. You only start to get chapters once the entire story is written. And it finally is. I hope everyone enjoys Angel.
