Against All Odds

High school is already hard and Alanis is no exception to the rule. While navigating the already tough teenage years with her best friend Lizzy by her side, Alanis makes discoveries that shake her to the core. Alanis and Lizzy, both from broken homes, plan to escape together once they turn eighteen. What Alanis didn't expect was for Lizzy to make an irrational decision that will separate them forever. While Alanis is left navigating this mess called life on her own, she gains assistance from her boyfriend's family to discover the truth about her own family and the lies her mother spread for her own selfish needs. She goes from having an under the table job that she hates to a job in a facility that she can make a career.
