Note: This is a continuation of my first short story "I Don't Like You" following Emily and Justin's relationship.

Emily's newfound fondness for Justin only adds more pressure to her relationships and social standing. Trying her hardest to keep her feelings hidden, the truth would tear her apart in ways she could never expect. Her jealous ex-boyfriend forming large cracks beneath the surface. How could things turn so sour so quickly? But maybe this was all deserved.

A heart beating is more than just rhythm, it's a relentless reminder that life persists, that hope lingers, and that against all odds, something within us is still fighting to be heard.
