Connor Cameron has been playing hide and seek his whole life: first, he hid from class presentations. Then he hid from The Killers. Now, he's hiding from speaking his truth-because in a world where speaking is a sin, he would rather stay clean. When the precocious Ghost Kids find him, he realizes that there are people like him-with barren and bruised bodies-and so, they forge bonds. But their love is not unconditional. Not quite. If he helps them escape the woods, they help him find The Answer. They help him breathe in a world that drowns him. But as he masquerades as okay by day but crumbles by night, he realizes that he doesn't have much time left to answer: Is it better to speak or to die? The Ghost Boy and I is a story about silence-the kind that devours you whole, and what happens when you hide from the truth.

Everyone thinks Micah is just the quiet kid. But behind the silence is a story no one ever cared to hear. Marked by scars he didn't ask for, memories he can't forget, and a voice he was forced to bury, Micah has spent his life surviving in a world that never made space for him. From love that hurt more than it healed to a body that felt like a battleground, he learned early on that silence was safer than the truth. But now... he's ready to speak. Even if it's through broken words. Even if no one listens. This is the story of the boy without a voice-until now.
