Prologue:-
Hariz stepped forward, his presence imposing as he closed the space between them. "Hala," he said, his voice low and firm, "we're getting married."
Hala's breath caught, her heart racing. "Why? You... you hate me, don't you?" she stammered, a flicker of fear in her eyes.
Without hesitation, Hariz lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him. His grip was gentle but unyielding, his gaze intense. "Look at me, Hala," he commanded, his tone leaving no room for defiance.
As her eyes met his, a shiver ran through her. He leaned in, his voice deep and resolute. "Because I want you. And that's all that matters."
Hala's voice wavered, frustration simmering beneath her words. "I want to do something with my life, Hariz. Marrying you feels like... like I'm being caged."
"Hala..." Hariz murmured, his voice soft but filled with unspoken emotions.
He moved closer, brushing his lips ever so gently against hers, his touch both tender and possessive. His hand slid up, caressing her cheek, his breath warm against her ear. "I'm scared, Hala," he whispered, his voice raw with vulnerability.
Her heart skipped, and she pulled back slightly, her eyes searching his. "Scared of what?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"Of losing you," he admitted, his gaze intense and unwavering. "I can't let you go, Hala... nor can I let you chase dreams that might take you away from me."
