Racism and homophobia - that's what took Maya's life and left her wife, Billie, as a single mom behind with a newborn to raise on her own. It's Sierra's 13th birthday when she wants her mother to tell her the story of how Maya and her got enamored of each other. Significant up-and-downs and fervent arguments - two aspects that oftentimes made it seem like their relationship had no purpose. Although they didn't remain loyal and faithful to each other at all times, they became cognizant of the other person's importance in their life after every incident that had occurred. Their glamorous wedding was only a partial proof of their love for each other. The decision to raise their own daughter.. an even bigger one. However, things don't go as planned, and Maya's tragic death befell her wife much earlier than any of their surroundings had ever bargained on. All due to the racism and homophobia of a medical professional. gxg fiction | trigger warnings mentioned in 'info'
