After an unexpected blast of gamma radiation, most of humanity was killed, most were not instant deaths but instead long and painful deaths due to radiation sickness, those that survived though were left with mutated cells that continue to mutate to this day, these survivors were the only ones left alive on earth, there are colonies outside of earth but they have other plans for the survivors, keeping them alive isn't one of them.

The planets were all doing what they usually did. Sun talking with Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars playing solar cards, Jupiter and Saturn talking, Uranus writing in his diary, Neptune talking to asteroids, etc. that was until, they all passed out. Edit sep 10: This story is mostly centered around Neptune and Uranus with occasional switches to other planets, for example, earth, venus, moons, etc. If you don't like those 2 very much, that's fine, just don't leave a hate comment or anything. Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.Concluida

Their planet was forgotten--Destroyed, someone had told them. They were taken a very long time ago, taken and held down and beaten to submission. The more time they waste, the worst. One day they'd grow too weak to do anything--one day they wouldn't be able to even stand. Then, their leg broke. Moon thinks they broke more than that. The blinding flash came first, so intense that it blinded even through closed eyes. The deafening thunder followed very shortly after, as the burning light began to subside. The cloud appeared as a silhouette at first against the whiteout, but as the sky returned to normal colour the iconic mushroom could be seen rising into the sky. The heat wave was the first to unleash its deadly power, burning hotter than the sun everything in its path incinerated instantly. Everything from stone to the air itself vaporised in an instant for miles around the blast. Then came the shock wave to finish where the heat wave left off, levelling everything in its path. Everything above ground level ripped from it place and blown to pieces as if it was nothing more than paper. All life for miles around the cloud simply erased from existence, as if it was never there at all. Gone. Gone in only few minutes.Concluida

When it came they hadn't anticipated the extent of solar power. Their power sources were ruined and they knew that they wouldn't survive long without them. Some people left to take their chances in the new wild but those who were left spent hours pondering solutions as the power dwindled and the life-force faded. Only when the people who were left out to face the sun found the bases did they find a solution.
