He thinks that he'll always be alone, and doesn't try to look for the good in life that much, because to him it was always his parents. One day they meet and after seeing the way Gray is, Juvia wants to help him. So she puts aside her illness and doesn't tell him. She's determined to show him that he can be happy again.
