Maybe I love the idea of you,
More than the truth I know deep inside,
But I stay, dancing with shadows of what could be,
Even as I watch my own love slowly die.
I tell myself it's worth the ache,
That someday you'll understand,
But I'm left only with echoes and silence,
And an empty, trembling hand.
