What if all that you ever knew was a lie?

Years ago, the meteorites fell and destroyed the old ways of doing things. A new changed Government arose and the world around them changed as well. Mutants ruled for a few days before being taken away and hidden. Slaves became a sudden reality, marked savagely by the Destiny Children, a by-product of the Government, and sold to wealthy Slave Owners. 
Trace is one of these slaves, along with her mutant friends M and Glint, owned collectively by Master. Allivan. In a twist of events, she and her friends are thrust into the world of the Rebels by two mysterious characters- one of whom is her long-thought dead brother.
Who can be trusted? And why is she just finding out about the lies that ruled her life for so long?

I fell backwards a step, Max's grip on my hand tightening while I simultaneously saw the shimmering field separating us from Command thicken. Command's plan was a simple, but excellent, one. I hated the sight of him, still I couldn't take my eyes off him. Those empty eyes positioned in that thick reptilian-like skinned face with those flapping breathing holes made me wish I had never been born. I wouldn't give up. I would fight until the end.
