Awaiting the Gallows

Death is the sole certain event in our uncertain lives. But just like everything else, death too, is unpredictable. But what about those who know when they are going to die? What would one do in one's last moments to make them worthwhile? What would you do if you realized that you were to die tomorrow? Well, our protagonist is a criminal who has been sentenced to capital punishment. He is to be hanged till death at the break of dawn.
