The story follows Raghav, a poor man from a small village in Uttar Pradesh, India. Driven by a desire to escape poverty, he engages in various schemes, including a Ponzi scam and political manipulation. As his wealth and influence grow, he develops schizophrenia and paranoia, leading to hallucinations and erratic behavior.
Raghav's crimes are eventually exposed, and he flees. The story takes a shocking turn when his burnt car is found with a body inside. However, it is later revealed that Raghav is alive and the entire incident was staged.
The mastermind behind everything is a mysterious figure Raghav has been seeing in his hallucinations. This person is actually a spy, and Raghav's elaborate plan was to disappear and assume a new identity. The story ends with Raghav successfully evading capture and starting a new life.
