There has been a lot of theories that Light Yagami is adopted, so I came up with this idea not long ago ^-^ (by the way I had to change the ages of a few characters so in this story L and Light are the same age)
Light's mother, Aika Hayashi, a 24 year old Japanese prostitute works long nights to support her child. She soon has to take care of a dear friend's young British son, named L, once his mother dies of AIDs. She works in the very apartment that houses her kids who are left in the bathroom every time she's "working" . As life gets worse for the two boys they bond even closer until they are eventually split up, only to meet each other once more 17 years later and form an even closer bond filled with sex, lies, heartbreak, acceptance, and eventually love.

A Slight Obsession
People often say things happen due to fate or destiny, others say it's just coincidence, while some claim it's due to someone, or something, causing it to happen. Until recently, Y/N just lived their life peacefully, moving every so often due to their parents work. They tried not to get attached to anyone so they wouldn't end up hurt, or hurting someone else once they move again. After meeting certain people though, will they have to move so often? Would they even be able to? ~~~ Alrighty, hello there readers! Not sure why you're here, but if you enjoy this story, then you got bad taste, ngl. Sorry not sorry. Anyways, I'm not 100% sure where I'm going with this story but eh. The updates will be extremely random, hope you're all are okay with that. I'm mostly going to go around the main storyline with... slight changes? I just hope I don't make it anymore confusing than it already is. QUICK NOTE PLEASE READ L will be slightly aged down, I don't feel comfortable writing Y/N as an 18 year old and L as a 24-25 year old with romantic feelings for said 18 year old. L will instead be 20 since that would work out better for the story. Near will not be a love interest, he will be more of a younger brother figure, and Mello will have more of an admiration for Y/N, like a kid crushing on a celebrity sorta thing. I'm gonna try and make this sorta slowburny, but with my writing style, I'm sure that won't be an issue. I'm also gonna try to keep this as gender neutral as possible, so please let me know if I've accidentally used the wrong pronouns or something throughout the story!! The nun assumed that his parents or parent left him there to be safe. So she took him into the orphanage where until age 10 he was adopted by the Hyoudou family. Host of one of three heavenly dragons and a power buried deep inside him waiting to burst out. Let's see how it goes!!
