Leone Winters: A blonde, angsty vampire who despises Verena. He blames her for the death of his parents four years ago, which led to him being forced to raise himself on the streets, unable to have a stable home. He loathes Verena for destroying his life.
Verena Malone: She's a stoic, moody, and indifferent leader with a bossy attitude. Although she's strategic and in control, she's still following orders from a group of manipulative, aging figures-the "human popes" or oligarchs, who hold power over her.
Plot: One day, Verena, as the Queen of Vespera, captures Leone. When she brings him to her court, she gives him an ultimatum: either rot in jail for the rest of his immortal life or serve her as the head of her security.
