"Lucas, who is she?" Serena's voice trembled as she gripped his arm, but Lucas barely heard her. His gaze was fixed on Kyla Monroe, who had just walked into the ballroom, her red gown clinging to her curves like a second skin.

"Lucas Grant," Kyla purred as she approached, her eyes locked on his, ignoring Serena completely. **"I've been eager to meet you."

Serena, sensing the tension, clung tighter to Lucas. "Lucas and I are getting married soon," she announced, her voice edged with possessiveness.

Kyla's smile was cold. "Congratulations. Marriage is wonderful... when it's with the right person."

Lucas's heart pounded as his phone buzzed. The message read: "This is Kyla. Meet me in room 1123." His pulse quickened, and Serena noticed. "Who is it?" she asked, suspicion creeping into her voice.

"Just a business partner," Lucas lied, barely able to hide his excitement.

As Kyla walked away, she glanced back with a knowing smile. "See you soon, Lucas."

Serena stood frozen, sensing she was losing him, while Lucas, drawn into Kyla's web, couldn't wait for what came next. The game had begun, and Kyla was already winning.
