Jade was abandoned by her parents when she was thirteen. She was forced to live with her uncle who hated her from the moment she was born. Cato is a cat-shifter. Considered the the pride's punching bag because he shifted into a simple house cat. He ran away from his pride and was near deaths door when Jade found him. Two years later Cato is Jades only friend.
