The bruises were fresh, already splotted with sickly yellows and gruesome purples, still red in some places and shaped unmistakably like fingers; as though someone had decided to fingerpaint all over his intern's neck. Zara is the girl in the back of the classroom who's afraid to voice her opinion against everyone else. She's afraid to look anyone in the eyes. She's even afraid to trudge down the halls of the school but she does it because she has two things keeping her there. 1) Liam. Her best friend. He's the reason that she's not dead, literally.
