The US government has completely collapsed as it was once known, the United States have separated into two parts both having different ideals of how to move forward as a country but both sides have completely stripped away the rights of women and the LGBTQ+ community. Abortions have been completely outlawed and same sex marriage, birth control of all types and IVF as well. The east part of the US is the most strict with their restrictions and have rolled out a dress code for everyone to wear so everyone knows where they fall in society, color coded bands on jackets is the code for anyone outside of their home. Doctors are so important due to the birth of child being the governments top priority. One doctor of which being our main character Alex who is struggling with his governments views and his own personal struggles, he wants to help women but how is this help? He's dealing with the pressure of saving women who are dying in child birth and the pressure of his governments who want him to lie to the public because they want to feed a certain narrative that just isn't true and it leaves him stuck. He's numb and doesn't even know who he is as a person anymore, or was numb, till he met him that is.
