Romance
In a dark underworld where two powerful factions vie for dominance, the Serpent Mafia and the Crow Empire are locked in a deadly rivalry. The Crows reign supreme in the open air, their reputation built on skill, influence, and near-mythic power commanding loyalty and respect. To the world, they are heroes-legends who guard the city from above. Led by the enigmatic Roland Russell, they are known for ruthless precision and a seemingly unbreakable hold on the streets. But beneath the surface, there's a secret alliance that few would suspect. Roland, despite his celebrated reputation, has relied on the Serpent Mafia's lethal assistance to maintain his power. Whenever a threat rises or a rival grows too ambitious, he covertly contacts Amara Walker, the Serpent Mafia's shrewd and ruthless leader. Her organization, viewed as criminals and monsters, takes care of his dirty work-eliminating threats and silencing enemies without a trace. This arrangement has allowed the Crow Empire to remain untarnished, maintaining its noble reputation while keeping Roland's hands clean. Yet, Roland has underestimated Amara's cunning. Aware of the power these secrets hold, she has kept a record of every order he's given, knowing that one day, her leverage could tilt the balance. She's been biding her time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to reveal the truth and dismantle the Crow Empire's carefully crafted image. Amara knows that exposing Roland would not only bring his empire crashing down but also elevate her own, finally giving the Serpent Mafia the respect and fear they crave. Now, as whispers of betrayal ripple through the ranks of both factions, Roland and Amara are locked in a dangerous game of power and deceit. Roland faces an impossible choice: risk exposure by continuing his reliance on Amara or cut ties and face the consequences of her wrath. Meanwhile, Amara stands ready to strike, her hold on him tightening with every move he makes.

Raven has worked for years on becoming the best of the best with The Snakes gang ever since she realized life doesn't give equal opportunities. But when it comes to the real test of loyalty, her world turns upside down when she learns a whole new meaning of that word. Tears will be shed, kisses will be shared, blood will be spilled, but her boiling anger will shine the brightest on her endeavor of befriending the enemy and burning the bridges that she has crossed in the past. *** He kept a neutral face, but his eyes said it all. They made me want to apologize and fix the mess I made because they looked just so...abandoned. Lost, like he doesn't know what to do with his life anymore. That sent another anxious feeling to my gut. Did I look the same? Did we both look lost? I was never found to begin with. All I could focus on was the emotion in his eyes. That deep shade of blue caressed by betrayal. That longing from before was gone because he was stuck, just like I always was. *** I should have known that this endeavor wasn't going to end so easily. Because I haven't died yet. And the villain always dies at the end of the story. *** Dreams don't come true because they're not reality. They're an alternate future where anything is possible. But that's not LA. A bright and crowded city with layers of sin and darkness underneath it, ready to prey on its most naive victims. I should know because I was one of them. ***
