A lone woman is sitting in a table near the window, where she could see vehicles passing by her house. She held her AK-47 as if it were a guitar, while a journalist was on the other side of the table. She wondered why a journalist would come to her house unexpectedly while she's doing a maintenance check on her gun, but she didn't mind it, because the reporter was gathering information about a certain individual - a man she knew all too well.
She placed the gun on her side, and spoke. "Oh, him? Yeah, I know him. It's going to take a while..."
The reporter immediately opens her notepad. She asked the woman if it's okay for her to be recorded, to which she agreed. The reporter then placed a recorder on the table, turned it on, and nodded at the woman, allowing her to continue.
"Did you know, there are three kinds of aces? Those who seek strength, those who live for pride, and those who can read the tide of battle. Those are the three. And him? He was a true ace." The woman looked at the sky through her window. There, she saw a trail from an aircraft. Whether it was from fighter plane or a civilian aircraft was uncertain. She smiled, and continued. "It was a cold and snowy day..."

My first fanction in my Wattpad profile about Azur Lane... ...and it all starts in June 1942, when the Azur Lane's massive fleet is setting out in a decisive naval battle against the combined Sakura Empire and the Siren fleet; hellbent on trying to take the atoll of Midway, until they are caught in the Mirror Sea cast by Akagi. But during battle, an unknown mysterious figure suddenly caused things to go badly awry, and their dimension becomes extremely unstable... Sometime later.. one of these shipgirls, named USS Enterprise (Yorktown-class CV-6)... ends up in a very different place... The world that she sees is very different to her own, a different universe that takes place in the time when World War II have long been ended, and both factions; Eagle Union and Sakura Empire (or in this real-world version; United States and Japan) are now close allies... Question is... Set in the year 2045, a world scarred by silence stirs once more. "Shit!" I muttered under my breath. He pulled open the door and headed for me with a smile that made my skin crawl. I withdrew my gun from my bag and hid it under the table. "Ah Blake Reid. At last we meet!" He pulled out the chair directly across from me. "Who are you and why have you been following me?" I growled. "I'm the man who is going to kill you," he gave me a masochistic smile. I withdrew my gun from its place under the table. It was pointed between his eyes and I took pleasure in the shock that was on his face. He had only gotten his gun halfway out. The staff was still unaware of me holding a gun to this man's head because they were all around back in the kitchen. "Sorry, but that's just not going to happen," I said sweetly. "In such a public place? How brazen of you," he challenged in a shaky voice. "Yes, all the staff is in the back where they can't see us. Oh and if you didn't notice, there's a silencer on my gun. Say good-bye my dearie," I pulled the trigger and sent the bullet through his head. Blake Reid isn't your normal 17 year old. She's an assassin on her last case... or so she hopes. She is having difficulty with memories of her past and can't seem to get out of her shell, even though that is one of the biggest assets needed for her assignment. You were sure that you had simply gone to bed as per usual and yet here you are, far from home, met with the sight of a calm, serene sea. In the bay, warships and carriers dock and refuel, planes rumble overhead as they aim for a landing at the airstrip on the far side of the island, and, further inland, a town bustles with life. Just where were you? "Commander," someone calls from behind, "are you done admiring the port? Please get ready swiftly, or you will be late to the daily briefing!" You are in a war consuming the world, perpetuated by an enemy shrouded in obscurity. The war is easy, in the beginning. It is almost like a game. There is good and evil. Us versus them. All you have to do is give the orders and watch your sailors take care of the rest. War, however, is never so simple, never so easy. Every horrific event one witnesses... every dance with Death one manages to step away from claws itself into the mind, creating thoughts that make the moments between thundering cannon-fire and wailing dive bombers all the more frightful. Moments like these are the worst part of the fighting. Any man's courage will break under the glaring black eyes of enemy cannons ready to let loose a few thousand pounds of compact death unto them. All the while, the slab of metal that will pound you into fleshy nothing may have already begun its course.... P.S. The story will mostly be sticking to SR and UR ships with the exception of some other ones. There are simply too many to include so it needs to be limited in some sort of fashion. I should also mention that not every girl who appears in the story will be a part of the harem. Some are there to give the setting more life, if that makes sense. Another thing: it will be in first person. That is simply my preference when it comes to writing as I enjoy working with the limited first person POV
