"You shouldn't have run, little one" he said, his deep voice low and husky.
But his huge size, well-built muscular hind and forelegs and the dominant aura made me scuffle backwards. Fear grabbing a hold of my heart causing my face to become flushed as anger replaced my previous emotion, angry at myself for ending up in this situation. "I won't be trapped," I spat, trying to create as much distance as possible.
Erickson's wolf form chuckled, his tail wagging revealing a playful side. "You're already mine, Amelia, my mate, my love, my queen."
"Any place you run to, I will surely find you and that's a promise".
"Let me be your anchor, your guide in this world ruined by my kind and let's find Noah together"
My heart skipped a beat at his claim, my mind reeling. I tried to process the emotions swirling inside me, wondering if I could trust him.
"Would he side with me against his fellow werewolves?"
Isn't that a disaster waiting to happen? Those questions plagued my mind but Noah is my priority right now, I seem to have no choice.
"Alpha Erickson, I Amelia Collins, accept your proposal". My voice firm but hesitant
"I'll work with you. But I warn you, I won't hesitate to defend myself if I feel threatened".
Erickson nodded, his eyes gleaming with a hint of relief. "I wouldn't expect anything less, Amelia. Let's find Noah and bring him home. Together."
The word "together" hung in the air, a promise of a fragile truce between two sworn enemies and fated mates but when love, betrayal, revenge and a rogue king appears can even the bond of mates with stand the devastating blow?
