How to run, away!

Evangeline "Eve" Hamilton never imagined she'd be standing on a train platform with nothing but a duffel bag, a dying phone, and a sports injury that won't let her forget her lost chance at Nationals. But life has a cruel way of piling on, and when the weight became too much, she did what she'd always done best-she ran. Only this time, she wasn't running toward something. She was running away.

A few blocks over, Cyrus Kennedy is packing his own escape. He's been called many things: rebel, troublemaker, lost cause. But he knows that sometimes rebellion is just survival, especially with a father like his. One last fight was all it took, and now he's slipping out into the night, the taste of freedom just a train ride away.

Though they attend the same high school, Eve and Cyrus run in different circles-until their paths cross in the quiet town of Marysville. Neither is looking for anything more than a temporary escape. But under the glow of Christmas lights and starlit skies, the two run away teenagers find something unexpected: each other.
