'“You go ahead, I’ll be up in a few minutes. I have to take this.” He tossed me the keys and I 
    
    hesitantly caught them before going ahead. I got maybe halfway to the elevator before I heard the 
    
    sickening sound of skin breaking and bones crunching. I turned around only to see the guys from the 
    
    auction house, stabbing Monty through the chest with a stake."
