Thirteen-year-old Sri reluctantly agrees to attend Camp Heritage, a picturesque camp set in the woods of Tobermory, Ontario, alongside her heritage-obsessed older sister, Devi. Nestled near serene ponds, mini beaches, and lush forests, the camp offers luxurious cabins and a variety of activities, from canoeing and swimming to talent shows and cultural performances.
Sri's initial excitement for summer is dampened by her ongoing conflict with Devi, whom she views as too focused on heritage and non-modern. Sri also struggles with a toxic friendship group that fails to appreciate her cultural background, leaving her feeling torn between fitting in with her friends and embracing her roots. Will she make the right choice?
