Despite the circumstances, I had made a friend and a half, Dylan, and my dog, Perry. That's all I needed as a homeschooled 7-year-old boy, that was until they died right in front of me. A reckless driver had hit them and fled the scene, leaving me alone with their lifeless bodies. No amount of therapy can ever come close to fixing that.

Ever since that day, I have never let someone or something get that close to me again. I swore into a life of solitude if I could protect others. That was until my senior year of high school when I met her, a transfer student from another state who just couldn't take a hint and pushed herself into my life. I fear I won't be able to resist her or her beautiful smile any longer. Maybe for her, I'll let my guard down. Just for this once.

Since PerryWinkle is in the process of becoming a published novel this is only the BETA version, meaning that the full story will NOT be posted here and isn't finalized whatsoever. Hopefully, I'll have the full novel published near the end of 2025, maybe early 2026.
