97 years ago a Nuclear war broke out and almost completely wiped out the human race. People retreated to the sky and stayed within the walls of the space craft they call 'The Ark' and they have been there ever since. Until now. The Ark is running out of oxygen and have no choice but to send 100 delinquents to the ground to see if earth was survivable, to see if they might be able to return. The 100 made it to ground. They thought they were safe. Wrong. They thought it would be easy on the ground. Wrong. They thought they were alone. Dead wrong. There was Me. My name is Kyana Aramoire V, commander second-to-be and a warrior come Trikru. 19 and a bred killer. A grounder.

After defeating Alie, the A.I. that wanted to control the human race, the group barley has time to breath before the realize they're not done fighting just yet. Everyone is still recovering after the torment they went through. Caleb is keeping a seceret that could potential end with him getting killed, Octavia is still numb to her lose, Clarke thinks shes God, the Grounders can't decide how to run the clains due to their lack of Commander and Ari's dark past comes to light shocking those closest to her. Nothing else could go wrong...or so they thought. Due to nuclear power plants melting down and on brink of exploding at any second, there is only about six months left to survive on the ground before the population is wiped out completely for the second time. The last of the human race is set into the hands of teenagers. Needless to say their screwed.
