17-year-old Rhea Sheridan is living a happy, healthy life in America, and things are about to get better because she gets to tag along on her parent's government work trip to Hawaii. But of course, nothing in life goes according to plan. When Fenwick Algernon wins the 2024 election it becomes clear that America will no longer be a safe place for Rhea and her little sister Macy's parents to raise them. Things worsen further when while at work Rhea's parents get wind of rumors about a set of acts Algernon plans to enforce making anyone with decent morals' life a living hell and preventing them from escaping. Now Rhea, Marcy, and their parents must try to beat the clock in a race to flee for a chance at a decent life. Will Rhea and her family be able to escape the acts successfully? And even if they do, will they ever truly be free from them?
