Under constant watch and scrutiny from the Guild, Claire now finds herself working side by side with a Black, the very family that was breed to become mage assassins, killing thousands of her people. The fact that the Black is also a handsome man does not help Claire's case at all. Raven has nothing to do with his family and yet is hostile to Claire upon finding out she's a mage. He worked as a detective to make sure everyone had equal justice but when he got his new partner Claire his world is thrown upside down. Not only is she a mage whom he silently despises but she's also the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. As they work together and find a rocky truce between themselves they travel the city solving crimes with a magical association. But she ended up locking up a spy from the enemy side. In the long run, she ends up working with this spy, posing as a detective, not a spy. Through code names and investigations, these two end up as great partners, though they don't quite see it. They're great at getting their jobs done efficiently. But when the time comes for Lydia to go back home, there's a small problem. Her home isn't in the same country as her partners. Find out what happens between these two spies.
