This story is hard to summarize but I am gonna try my best. So, the story is basically about a character named Viktor who is trying to find a way to bring his dead wife back to life whom he killed. i tell any more than this and it might become a spoiler. So, if you choose to read it, enjoy.

(Changed from book 1 to 0 but to lazy to edit the cover lol) Viktor wakes up with a burning thirst and the horrifying realization that he's become the very monster he helped create. The immortality treatment wasn't supposed to turn people into blood-drinking predators. It wasn't supposed to collapse civilization overnight. And it definitely wasn't supposed to transform half the world's population into vampires. Yet here he is-a brilliant scientist now hiding in the shadows, fighting his own savage hunger while documenting the virus's effects with clinical precision. Viktor's desperate to hold onto whatever scraps of humanity he can, even as his new instincts scream at him to hunt. Elena's blood is special-a fact that now makes her a target for both vampires and hunters alike. When she's cornered by men with silver weapons and a burning hatred for anything with fangs, her rescue comes from the most unlikely source: a vampire who, inexplicably, chooses not to feed on her. As the remnants of human society fracture into territories, feeding hierarchies, and blood farms, Viktor and Elena form an uneasy alliance. She sees the scientist still fighting inside the monster. He sees the answer to questions about the virus that haunts him. Neither expects the connection that forms between predator and prey, researcher and subject, monster and human. In the ruins of a fallen world where new power structures emerge from the ashes, their partnership defies everything the new order stands for. But in a reality where humans are hunted, vampires rule, and mysterious new creatures emerge from the shadows, breaking the rules might be the only way to survive. Welcome to the beginning of the end-and maybe, just maybe, the start of something else entirely. "The real experiment isn't what's in my blood. It's whether a monster can choose to be human again."
