Broken

"A'xian!" At first he thought he was hearing things, but after lazely opening his eyes and looking around, only to realise he wasn't in the Jingshi, did Wei Wuxian realise what was going on.

He had to be dreaming, he could only be dreaming, yet just than, the door clicked and the tender voice called again, "a'xian"; soft, loving, beautiful as it had always been.

It pulled at his heart tightly as it came closer, he now sat up his back facing her, too scared to look. A soft, warm hand landed on his shoulder, "a'xian.." she called one last time.

It all felt too real, it didn't feel like a dream. But it had to be.

Before he could even look back tears had already began to flow, he sniffled and took in a deep breath. Looking behind him, she really was there.

Alive and well, younger than she had been when she died - without the changes brought from childbirth or the clear signs of aging from her low cultivation. Looking at her he began to cry even harder, the girl didn't know what was wrong holding him tightly as he cried.

In that moment Wuxian thought only one thing, 'if this is a dream, let me sleep a while longer, just so I can see her longer, hold her for just a bit longer...'

Little did he know whichever diety was in charge of his life would hear him and let him busk in this dream forever - mocking his fate once again.
