Boring bar are made of steel, tungsten-based high-density alloys or carbide. With tungsten-based high-density alloys, grades K1700 (E = 45 × 106psi) and K1800 (E = 48 × 106psi), made of boring bars in the same cutting parameters for the boring process, the amount of deflection can be the same diameter and overhang than the same amount of steel cutter bars to reduce the amount of 50 to 60 per cent.
