She wakes up in a hospital bed with a single memory of a horrifying sensation of hands on her back, shoving her from a four-story height.
Everything else is a blank. Her name, her history, her own face in the mirror-all forgotten. The only thing she knows for certain is that someone tried to murder her, and they might still be out there.
She's told her name is Neptune, and she's immediately surrounded by a chorus of strangers who claim to be her closest friends. They weep for her, they laugh with her, they bring her crepes in the middle of the night. They tell her stories of the girl she used to be: a reclusive genius, a beloved prodigy, a social outcast shattered by a vicious lie. But each of their stories seems to conflict, painting the portrait of a person she can't recognize. Are they her protectors, or are they the smiling keepers of the secrets that led to her fall?
Now, Neptune must navigate a web of secrets where every friend is a potential suspect and every memory could be a lie. She has to uncover the truth of her own identity before the predator who pushed her from that rooftop realizes their victim is awake-and decides to finish the job.

Desperate for aid, she runs as fast as she can towards Lastation's Basilicom, avoiding raiders and hostiles along the way. But what she found inside isn't what she expected to find at all. Nepgear finds out the hard way that some people fall into the chaos and turn to insanity quickly. Barely managing to escape from the grip of death, she returns to her hideout.
