He starred at himself in the mirror.
Gaze empty and lost, when it caught on the cross he wore around his neck.
It had been meaningless to him for years of hangovers at church on Sunday mornings, telling lies and hurting others while he wore the symbol of unconditional love, but in this moment his heart twisted.
His vision blurred as he broke down into tears, knees weak as he sank to the floor realizing that in this moment: God still loved him. And he was calling him home.

'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself?
