A twist on the original Baldur's Gate story, it begins with Astarion before the mindflayers and tadpoles and then continues on as he's kidnapped and begins his journey for freedom. But he has more to contend with than in the original, instead of Tav he meets a woman named Vesper who promises to help him kill Cazador and then purposely gets kidnapped by the mindflayers to follow him. As they try to cure themselves of the tadpoles, he tells himself he won't love her but will use her to his own end only for her mystery to continue enticing him. He learns there's more to her story then he ever thought possible and has to decide between power, his thirst for freedom, and a new feeling he hasn't explored before.

Goodbye Astarion [Astarion X NB Tav]
Astarion ascended just like he wanted. Tav helped just like he asked. People change just like they were warned. Fair warning: Ascended Astarion is the villain, Tav frequently disassociates and justifies Astarion's behavior to themselves and the other companions. Domestic violence is implied but not depicted out-right. Verbal abuse is kept to a minimum. Two major characters will die eventually. An alternative epilogue at Withers' party. Still in progress but I feel inspired and it's a short one. I will probably update frequently I haven't written fanfiction in 11 years. As the Ash Settles, is my take on what happens to the group of companions after saving Baldur's Gate. As the ash settles and the drinks are pouring a familiar sensation washes over our Tav, the very same one that compelled her to attack poor Alfira in her slumber, perhaps defeating her sister was not just denying her father but in fact taking back her rightful spot as leader of the Bhaalspawn, perhaps Withers was indeed wrong. Questions left unanswered while still having to find a special artifact for Astarion to walk and in the sun and still beating heart to fear Karlach. Rated M for Mature. Will include adult behaviors, some violence and well just stuff from the game itself. Don't worry though not a finger will be laid on the goodest boy Scratch. After running across a strange druid outside of Emerald Grove, he wonders if, maybe- just maybe- he can find a path to real freedom. Jalva left behind her roots as a druid long ago. An ex-soldier, a wanderer of Faerun, she returns to Baldur's Gate to find her way back into an upper-class social circle, hoping to find something to fill her monotonous days. But when she is abruptly captured and implanted with an Illithid tadpole, she finds all the excitement she wants and more, including in the form of a familiar face.

When Elara is kidnapped by a nautiloid ship and has a mind flayer parasite inserted into her brain, the only things on her agenda are getting home, and getting rid of the parasite. That is, until she comes across a handsome elf who is in the same predicament as her, and also happens to be a vampire. This story follows these two elves, both scarred from their pasts, both determined not to fall in love or anything so frivolous, along with a well-spoken wizard and a tiefling pulled straight from the Hells, as they journey to Baldur's Gate and try not to die in the process.

Astarion is a dangerous vampire spawn rogue, bound by shadows and scars of the past. When their paths intertwine, sparks fly. Will something beautiful bloom between them, or will it be plucked before it ever has the chance to grow? - "You are more than what he wanted you to be," I murmur quietly. Astarion's gaze cuts to mine, sharp at first and then softening around the edges. "I'm a monster," he whispers with a shake of his head. "I've lured countless people to their deaths. Innocents."
