Another usual day took place in Elmore. Everything and everyone seemed to be in a great mood- that is... except for one particular blue cat. Gumball woke up with a sour mood that morning, eventually gaining the attention of both his siblings and parents.
Richard, in an attempt to make his son feel better, gave him a -WoNdEr HuG-. That's when things began to go... downhill.
After that hug was given to Gumball, his mood shifted completely, becoming one of pure joy and happiness! It looked like he was living in eternal bliss, smiling here and there, and never once stopping to think about the consequences of his time being.
Before time, things began to spiral out of control. Gumball's strange change in attitude caught the eye of many students and teachers, especially Darwin and Anais.
Not before long... things would get very nasty for everyone... all thanks to -ThE jOy ViRuS-.
This is an AU where the only character who received the wonder hug was Gumball! Darwin did not.

His heart begins to beat again and marshal freaks out, the new constant thrumming in his chest giving him head aches and causing him immense pain and confusion. He is completely confused and isolates himself from the world, but gumball, since their rekindled friendship, begins to grow worried, having not seen Marshal in a while. One night, Marshal visits him, and nearly collapses in pain. Not knowing what to do he brings him to the and kingdom hospital. They don't know whats wrong with him so they kick him out, Gumball ends up bringing Marshal to His castle and tries to care for him But since Marshal now has feelings for Gumball, his revived heart beats faster. Gumball had asked him on multiple occasions what was wrong, but all he got in response was "it hurts" and after Gumball comes and sits next to Marshal, he hears marshal saying that the pulsing got faster. Asking where it was, and finding out it was his heart, he is shocked. Etc etc etc.Complete

'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself? 'Leave me alone.' I said firmly but his hold on me was so strong. I was struggling to get out of his bear hold but to no avail. 'Oh!! Squid was crying again but in anger. "They reckon I'm stupid. All I try to do is the right thing. I thought they were my friends and family but no, I guess I was wrong!" Squid cried. Ricki had tried to kill Squid by running him over but Tom had pushed him out of the way and took the hit full on. Memories of that year started filling Squid's head. In the background he would always hear a gunshot, screaming, evil laughter, screeching tires, all the bad stuff he had heard through out that year. He started yelling "Stop! Stop it! Leave me alone! Don't hurt me! Ash you'll be alright! Tom no! Stop!" Soon all of this was too much and he passed out on the floor and the last thing he heard was Ash's voice saying "Squid, stay with me buddy, come on, don't close your eyes" then nothing, just quiet and darkness. School's out and the gang decide to go on a holiday near Brighton Pier to try and forget the year they've had but, will it be that easy? They think it's all over but really, it was only the beginning. Someone returns wanting revenge and Squid becomes a target. Always having to look over his shoulder to see if he is safe and relying on others for his safety but, is that enough?
