All That Was Mine

It came to a halt pulchritudinous as it began, the only thing left, an embroidery, once sown. He stared intently, not letting his gaze wander, so intensely that a hole could've been forged through it. He let his line of focus drift from the thread to the view hanging above it. The wind numbing his body at whole, allowing him to keep his focus elsewhere. He closed his eyes, this time unable to fix them open once more, gently loosening his grasp on the thread, allowing it the composure to fall between his fingers, to the void beyond them. He then threw his head back in tensity, now parting his lips, the only words to escape were,

''I was never yours...''
