Lucidpaw is no wonderful, prophecy-complex apprentice. But when a higher force brings her far away into the frozen forest, inhabited by surviving cats, she will learn she wasn't brought for nothing. And that, in the frozen forest, life is not secured to all, even less an easy task to hold.

Moonlit is confused as a prophecy is laid down in front of him when his faith is scattered. He will have to decide which path to risk; his own faction's loyalty or the safety of the forest on his paws. But he's not alone, to his surprise.

However, the destiny the two are made for is not easy, and the danger grows between them as their factions collide in long-living rivalry.

Will they protect the secret and stop the coming trouble before it kills them off?
