It is 1147. Louis VII, King of France, begins his march to the Holy Land. The Second Crusade has begun. Hoping to redeem himself in the eyes of his god, Vespasien joins the march, eager to prove himself worthy of knighthood. The march is not without its dangers however. What he does know is, if he is to survive, he must first battle his way through angry peasants, vengeful Saracens, and a creature that thirsts for blood.
