Owens mother died giving birth to him and his father went insane without his mate. His insanity caused him to be secluded from the other packs. That left him to abuse his own pack and even his only son. Owen did his best to make himself the only target of his father's rage so his pack didn't suffer. He thought that was the only thing he could do because he was a omega. An alpha was needed to take his father's position. However when he realized the abuse his father was putting his best friend through he couldn't just stand by. So he challenged his father for the Alpha position and somehow won.

Though he wasn't an alpha his pack wanted him to be the leader. So he trained and did his best to become the Alpha he wasn't. A challenge comes in the form of the mates ball. Which happens at a different pack once every year. Once the council learned he took over the pack. They got a invite to that years mates ball. He expects to stay in the background away from everyone else. That is until he met his mate the Alpha of the pack. Not knowing Owen was an omega he told him that he couldn't be with him. So they made a deal that allowed them to be together for the duration of the mates ball.

However once it is over they will they will reject each other and forget they were ever mates.
