Jessie, a senior college student in her early 20s, supported her boyfriend, Calvin, in his pursuit of a basketball career. It all went south when she learned that her father, Joffrey Fitzpatrick, the country's Greatest Basketball Player of All Time, had offered him a guaranteed professional league spot. The only condition was that he break up with his daughter. Even though she accepted her fate, she was bitter towards her father for interfering with her personal life and for leaving her and her mother while he sought greater success in the basketball world.

Her life seemed to be moving forward when she transferred to the rival university her father attended and met Lenard. Unlike her ex-boyfriend, this guy has been coming alongside her and supporting her so that she can become a basketball superstar like his father. Also, he was on the varsity team at school, so Jessie was lucky to share that passion with him.

As soon as things were going well with her and Lenard, she discovered she was back in the same boat, which made her terrified once more. Like Calvin, Jessie was let down by the man she thought was her MVP. The entire world seems to conspire against her - from her relationship with her dad to her career to her relationship with Lenard.

When another opportunity knocks on her door, her heart bounces once again as if she is being tossed around by the world. Since she still wants to make up for everything she and Lenard have been through, she finds this offer hard to accept. Yet only this ticket will allow her to fulfill her greatest dream. The fear she has is that she will fall into the same trap as her father, who relies on success to gain happiness and abandons everyone else along the way.

Now, she must decide whether to choose her greatest dream or her greatest love.
