A narrator named Victor, convinced of his own righteousness, hides a secret within the walls of his home. As policemen appeared, a knocking that he hears on the door, or maybe in his mind grows louder, threatening to expose not only his crimes but his sanity-if he had any left. In the depth of his guilt and madness, he must confront the monster he has become before it consumes him whole, or succumb to the weight of his guilt, allowing it to consume him forever.
((Heavily inspired by The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, this short story is written as part of our Performance Task for school.))

He was her rock, her best friend, her first love. He became her worst nightmare, her tormentor, her captor She was his everything. His obsession. A gasp left my parted lips as his hand forcefully connected with my cheek, "You are home, so I don't want to hear that crap from you, okay?" shaking, I looked down at my feet, his gaze too menacing to hold. "I said, do you understand" he spit through clenched teeth, "y-yes, I'm sorry" I whispered, a new wave of tears making their appearance. "Good girl, now I need you to keep being a good girl, okay?" nodding, my eyes met his dark ones. His form towered over me, making me feel small and irrelevant. "Words, Embry!" He demanded as I stuttered out a quiet yes. I studied him cautiously as he walked towards the far end of the room, shuffling through drawers before stalking back towards me and crouching down. I sucked in a breath as I saw the knife in his hand, his face held a mischievous grin as it glinted in the light. "Now baby-girl, you see, as much as I hate to, you need to be punished, do you know why?" Warning! "Breathe." He dipped his head down so that his lips were right at my ear, his strong arm wrapped securely around my waist, molding my body into his. "If you're going to fall apart,." He starts, teeth gritted. "Now's the time. I'll be here to put you back together when it's over." I squeezed my eyes shut again, and I did just that. I fell apart. ******* Secrets. Lies. Deception. Murder. I'd seen and done it all. And not willingly. So I left. I sacrificed my freedom to save myself, and the only way to ensure my own safety was to start over. Clean slate. New people. New me. I swear I w-won't ask for cho-choco-chocolate. Please just tell me yo-you are here." I begged her again. "Li-lisa?" I called her out again in case she answers or just signals atleast by the sound to know. There was a pin drop silence. Nothing, No fucking response. Now I am mad and scared at the same time. "Stop calling her name 𝓐𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓮. She won't answer." The deep, dark and thick voice said. What do you think will happen? Well...
