A narrator named Victor, convinced of his own righteousness, hides a secret within the walls of his home. As policemen appeared, a knocking that he hears on the door, or maybe in his mind grows louder, threatening to expose not only his crimes but his sanity-if he had any left. In the depth of his guilt and madness, he must confront the monster he has become before it consumes him whole, or succumb to the weight of his guilt, allowing it to consume him forever. ((Heavily inspired by The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, this short story is written as part of our Performance Task for school.))
