John Winchester is missing. Dean needs to find him, but he can't do it on his own. So he convinces Sam to join him, and together they hunt down the youngest Winchester, Matthias.
Born two years after Mary died, in one of John's more careless flings and left in front of a motel door, Mat was raised in the true Winchester way. Only, he could never quite get the hang of anything John tried to teach him. Having given up on making Mat a hunter, John focuses on his other two sons. After Sam left, it doesn't take long before Mat, at sixteen, follows in his older brother's footsteps. But he can't escape the Winchester destiny.
Four years after he left, Sam and Dean come calling about their missing father. Mat reluctantly agrees to help in their search, but as they keep following the leads John sets down, Sam and Dean can't help but notice that Mat seems...different then he used to. He heals faster, he has a knack for sensing demonic activity, he even acts differently.
As things escalate, maybe Mat's secret can be more helpful than anyone thought...or maybe it could spell the end of the world itself.
