Girlhood and sense of self can be the most important thing in a woman's life since the day she is born, but what happens when she doesn't actually belong in the life that she grew up in?

Collette Briar is a twenty year old biology major, and for her, those two very important things felt very distant and out of reach.
That was until a small swoop of a bird and a necklace lead her to a place where she has always belonged, she just didn't know it.
She now has to learn who she really is, how to navigate her ymbryne training and study at an academy in which she is cherished, all with the help of a mentor that slowly becomes a beautiful source of infatuation in her life that she wouldn't trade for anything.

Her ymbryne journey is both the girlhood she longs for, and the purest 'coming of age' she could imagine as she learns things about herself, her genetics and her new-found feelings of attraction.
