During a battle, Macaque gets injured, the group does not yet trust Macaque and is still skeptical so they leave the monkey king to watch over him, not only to make sure he is well healed but also so he doesn't run off or do anything destructive. The healing process is slow and painful, it hurts to even use his power. He finds himself unable to even move from his bed some morning. On the verge of death, Sun Wukong is worried for his ex-best friend.

And so, MK set off to try just that. It was a short conversation, but one that would change how he would see himself from then on. Who would've guessed being a monkey was so fun?
