*This story is a work in progress, I will be changing things and this is a ROUGH first draft, intended for mature audiences.* When everything Ashlynn knew about her relationship falls apart, she finds comfort in the arms of another man who's supposed to be off-limits. They grew up together but never knew each other well, her boyfriend hates him, and worst of all, it's her best friend's older brother. When Max see's Ashlynn falling apart, he feels the need to catch her, but what happens when he starts to fall, would she be the one to catch him? Or will she let him fall. He's not supposed to want her, but there's no helping the attraction between the two. Reed Is a romance with dark aspects, please read the trigger warnings before following their story. As Nell recovers from the loss of her mom, her Dad's depression, and a string of failed relationships, Rory has remained her one reliable constant. He is not only her dad's best friend, but also the harbor she comes home to when life gets tough. That unique bond gets put to the test when Nell develops feelings for Rory that go a little deeper than he can allow. Their difference in age, their entangled lives, and the judgement of their closely-connected families stand in the way of their happiness. And risking the love they already share for a more intimate kind of love seems to be too much of a gamble.
