A century ago, the demon king drowned the world in miasma. Demons everywhere went mad. Peaceful shopkeepers tore apart their human patrons. Child demons devoured their human friends. No longer could demons speak. They had become mad beasts intent upon killing. With no other recourse, humankind retreated behind a wall and sent forth their strongest heroes, wielding the demon-killing sword. It was hoped that this sword could even slay the demon king, source of the miasma. All was in vain. The heroes failed. The sword was lost. And so a hundred years pass, until a scrappy part-demon scavenger finds the ruins of the sword. With rabid demons beating at the walls, she sets out across the wasteland of a once-vibrant land to defeat the demon king and carve a new fate for all of humanity. After their victory at the Temple of Elarion, the guardians are celebrated as heroes, but they know the threat of the Void is far from over. The dark leader's ominous words echo in their minds, spurring them to uncover more about this looming menace. As they study the tome and consult with scholars and sages, they learn that the Void is an ancient, primordial force of chaos and entropy, intent on unbalancing the world and consuming its light. The guardians' quest takes them across diverse and dangerous lands. They seek out hidden archives, long-forgotten temples, and wise hermits, each revealing pieces of a larger puzzle. They learn that the Void can be temporarily repelled but never fully destroyed, as it is a natural counterpart to the light. However, there are ways to maintain the balance, ensuring that neither side gains dominance. Their journey is fraught with peril as the Void's influence begins to manifest more visibly, corrupting nature, warping creatures, and drawing in those who seek power. The guardians must face off against these corrupted beings, all while dealing with their internal struggles and the growing pressure of their mission. In a climactic revelation, they discover that the convergence mentioned in the tome-the alignment of stars that amplifies the Star of Elion's power-also has a counterpart: a celestial event that strengthens the Void's influence. This event is rapidly approaching, and the guardians realize they must act quickly to prepare. The story culminates in a desperate bid to gather allies and fortify a sacred site believed to be a focal point of the Void's influence. As the celestial event looms, the guardians face their greatest challenge yet, battling not just physical manifestations of the Void but also the lure of despair and doubt within themselves.

Caleb after rescuing him from the Slaad lord explained the ring belonged to the king of the Azzard a line that was broken nine hundred years ago. With all these events confusing Rickalas, Caleb advises that he seeks out the chosen one of old. One who may hold all the answers. Unknowingly to everyone that he walks amongst them all hiding in plain sight. Desperate for answers the Guardians turn to King Tirian of Fasingworld who advises them to speak to the oldest known man in the Azzard, Scabies Thesulac. The Slaad lords were on the move, plotting and planning. The world wasn't prepared for the return of Azurdenea's ancient enemy. War was coming. Death was coming. The nothing, was coming. The One'being had sent its legions to help his minions the Slaads and the Guardians experience their greatest pain when one of their own betrays them.
