Gilligan was just trying to escape his dead end job when he was hit by a car. he ended up in the hospital after being woken up from a coma because his insurance wouldn't pay for the cost of the medical bill and he didn't have enough to pay for it out of pocket. a strange man in a strange suit hands his a strange concrete to sign, and if he does what it says, he will have all his debts paid off. it sounds too good to be true, that's because it isn't true. after signing the contract he is thrown into world of death, chaos, and mayhem. with nothing but a group of friends, new and old, he has to make a mark in this new world or get left in the shadow of those that make their marks.

The story is about one man with a broken mind doing everything he can to try and make up for the wrong he did and find the woman he loves. This story is very intense and isn't for light reading. I think of the story like this: This isn't the story of a hero slaying a dragon and rescuing the princess. Nor is this a story about a hero who triumphs over evil and rescues the maiden in peril. This is the story of a man, who fights as much with himself, as he does the world around him. He is no hero, he is simply a man, trying to make the best he can of himself, and fix what he broke. He is both the protagonist, and antagonist of this story, because he does as much harm to himself as he does good.
