The Invasion is a harrowing and dark sci-fi horror story that tells the story of the arrival of an alien species of colonists and the devastation they cause, from the perspective of a planetary inhabitant. The story tells the story of a civilisation's struggle and slow decline and destruction in the hope of survival, while confronting the aliens' ruthless conquering nature. The unnamed protagonist, who may be the planet's sole survivor, shares his memories of the final moments of their world, showing loss, fear and inevitable doom. This story is not only a critique of violence and oppression, but also a deeply emotional and personal warning about the consequences of revenge, hate, power and greed.
